What is this?
I'm taking my oil pan off and the engine is raised as high as it'll go without pulling the whole thing because of this little bastard...
Can someone tell me what it is, and if it can be safely removed for a few minutes? Don't want pressurized fuel shootin everywhere, heh
Thanks!

There is a gasket between the EGR and the air intake so be careful not to ruin it so it can be reused. They are only a couple bucks at the auto store so if it doesnt come off well, you may want to have a new one handy. I myself would remove and scrape off the old gasket and replace it with a new one anyways to be on the safe side. Actually, even remove the rear slip tube bolt being you have it already disconnected at the side and clean the EGR side port hole and shaft with some trottle body cleaner. Might save you time in the future from carbon build up throwing a Code #328. I had this code alittle over a week ago and cleaning it cleared my code
. Worth looking into! Keep in mind that the off white piece connected to the EGR with three small screws and a wire attached is your EVP (EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR) This piece is what tells the computer how the EGR is functioning.
Just a couple little things to keep in mind.

thank you all, that was a pain...
went ahead and replaced the egr gasket and going to clean it as suggested. broke the vaccuum tube coming off of it but otherwise all was a piece of cake once i got it out of the way
now to get the oil pan gasket seated....
