Question Weird shifting

Hey guys i have a 1993 f150 supercab xlt 4x4 and automatic. When i drive and it shifts from first to 2nd and some times 3rd gear it shifts like its got a shift kit in it. i dont know if anyone experienced this in there truck? also when ever i drive in reverse and turn the wheel all the way i get a popping noise any idea? the ball joints are all replaced.

The popping in reverse sounds like radius arm bushings

if it was the radius arm bushing should it pop everytime u turn the wheel because i turn the wheel and i heard it pop twice on the passenger side but it doesnt pop every time i turn the wheel

I'd also look at the I-beam axles and be sure the bushings and bolts are still intact. My radius arm use to pop going into reverse then again going forward from the nut and the radius arm hitting the bracket but it was more noticeable on tight turns.

Sorry no, automatics not my strongest suit. When it shifts does it hit hard right away? If so only thing I could think of checking is trans fluid level and its condition and pull codes, even if you CEL isn't on.

The weird shifting could be caused by the TPS "throttle position sensor" going bad of it could be needing adjustment.
