Default Vacuum line question

I have included a photo of a vacuum secondary or advance that isn't connected on my 93 xl 4.9. It is directly in the center of the picture it had a small section of vacuum hose that went nowhere. I need to know where it goes and if it's needed. Someone told me it was for automatic transmission vehicles. I have a 5 speed. Thanks

That nipple is the air pump diverter valve I think. It shouldn't have to do with transmission, it's for emissions. On my 96 4.9L it's a tan/cream line. The other end of it is on the rear drivers side of the block, where there's like 6 lines all close to eachother. It should be on the vacuum diagram on your hood too.

I'm missing the diagram, lucky me. I will look around and see if I can locate the other end. The Chilton is absolutely no help as it has no
Infomation.

In the morning I'll take a picture of where the line starts and goes so you can get it on there

On mine there are three solenoids on the side of the block, drivers rear. The tan/cream line goes into the middle solenoid.

Thanks a lot. That's the bad part of getting a used vehicle, not knowing what the previous owner did or didn't do. But that's half the fun sometimes.

Hi Browningfx4, by chance were you able to get a picture or two of where the line connected? I really appreciate it.
