Exclamation URGENT! Please Help!

Hello everyone. I have an urgent crisis here! It's an 1996 F150. A couple weeks ago, I had the fuel injectors in it replaced because it would not start. That fixed the problem...until now. Now, I try to start it and it shakes rigorously, may turn on for 2 seconds then it turns off. What could be the problem? Right before it stopped working (5 minutes before), it was accelerating slowly and shaking while in motion.

Please help!

Do you think that could be it? I was thinking that too, but I wasn't sure. I have a fuel filter for it, but I dont have the special tool to remove the old one. Do I need the tool? Or is there a workaround?

Did you check for codes yet? Then do you basics for a no start. Check for spark and fuel pressure. Then timing. Then compression.

Ok so what we got is the o2 sensors are not functioning. They should constantly switch from rich to lean. It's not likely for both to quit at the same time. It says your secondary air system (smog pump ) isn't switching. Is your smog equipment still there? The other code says you have a rich or lean condition in one bank. So things to check are fuel pressure, maf sensor and fuel injectors. Id look over the wires really closely considering you just had work done. See if something is loose. Also look for vacuum hoses loose or broken. Then get a loaner gauge from AutoZone and check fuel pressure. If that's good test your maf sensor with a meter. If all that's good go back to the shop that did the job. Bring your printout and numbers for any testing you did. It could be an issue with the injectors. Last thing is a bad ecu. However this is pretty rare.

Change the fuel filter and see if that helps. If not, you might have the fuel pump in the tank going, going, gone.

Take all four readings and see what they have in common...they all seem to site toward a fuel problem and than will make many sensors not register.

Okay, I just went ahead and brought it to a mechanic shop.... They took the fuel filter off and it was FULL of water. They said it had more water than gas in it! So, they replaced that and they said to just drive it around, thats the only way to get it going like new again. I have also been having some "jumping" (with what I thought was the transmission), which stopped after they replaced the fuel filter.

I always get my gas at the same place. They asked where I get it and I told them. They said to NEVER get gas there again!

I know in big trucks that you need to keep the fuel tanks full as much as you can in the winter time because condensation happens inside the tank and the more it sits the worse it is. And if you have a dual tank system in a pickup, that is just twice as much area to pick up condensation. It seems if there was a fuel filter half full of water, it might be condensation. Now if the tank was half full of water, well that is a different matter.

I've never had a need for it here in southern California but it seems to me I've seen fuel additives at AutoZone that remove water from the fuel. Might help.
