Default twEECer tuner

I’m doing a turbo build on my 95 F150 with 300 i6. It came from the factory with a MAF sensor. Since the Quarterhorse is discontinued I decided to go with the twEECer. I emailed back and forth with Mike Glover (twEECer inventor) and he said that he’s 99.99% sure he would be able to create a strategy for the ECU. Anybody have any experience with this?

I’m doing a very mild build with stock internals, adding 30lb injectors, stiffer valve springs, an MLS Fel-pro head gasket, brass distributor caps, colder plugs, custom up pipes using the stock manifolds, and then a cheap turbo kit that I can upgrade later. Not gonna run more than 8-9lbs of boost. Any advice?

I know it’ll eventually blow up lol so that’s when I’ll do forged pistons and the whole 9 yards. 😂

There is a facebook group dedicated to turbo 4.9l engines. Fordsix.com is also a good source for more performance oriented builds.

I thought that the 4.9l only had MAF in '96 with OBDii, but if your '95 has MAF, that means you've got an SEFI EEC-iv, which is a great starting point. I haven't personally used a twEECer, but I would 100% trust Glover's ability to make a tune for you, he's got to have tuned thousands of EEC-iv's.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been on that forum as well but I’d like to pick the brains of many people as possible. Always ready to learn something new.

With SEFI EEC-IV does that mean I could possibly have hypereutectic pistons as well?

I apologize if I’m in the wrong forum or this has been brought up before.
