I have a single 12" in a box behind the passenger side seat (40/20/40 seat), fits perfectly. Amp is mounted under the stationary middle seat, and behind my seat is where I store everything else.
It's way too loud to have it cranked with the windows up and I still don't turn it up all the way with the windows down.

I have a custom box that is about 6 to 8 inches at the bottom, I can't remember exactly that angles and come to about 2 inches at the top... it has a port across the back the full length of the cab and it houses two 10" subs with the amp mounted in the floor under the seat... I'll take some pics later and post them... I'm 6'1 so I made it where I'd still have room

Amazon.com : Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X12 R2 Shallow Prime Single 12-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure : Vehicle Subwoofer Systems : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X12 R2 Shallow Prime Single 12-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure : Vehicle Subwoofer Systems : Car Electronics
Got it for $85 shipped.
Seat goes all the way back.... sounds great. Plenty of power for the single cab (so much that you just end up with a lot of window/panel vibration on high levels)

A good pair of 8's and a decent amp will be more than you need in a single cab. Truck boxes are ok, but cutom boxes make a world of difference. They also cost more, so it's all up to what you want to spend. I've been a fan of the 8" Comp VR's. Shouldn't need more than a 300 watt amp to push them. You will like the crisp sound of the 8's over 10's or 12's. They have their place too if you want that deeper reverb base though.
My step brother had 2 8's in his S10 years ago and you couldn't turn the volumn up very high because they hit so hard. I used to have a set of 10's in my 90 GMC. I traded those for a set of 8" VR's. I liked the sound a lot better. I was only pushing them with a 2-channel 175 watt amp. It was old as dirt, but still worked.

I have a 12" Polk audio running off a 1200w jbl amp. I was wondering if I could run another 12" sub off the amp and it'll hit harder ?? Just dunno where to mount the other sub at
