whats the upside to getting a turbo? I mean thats a big risk of blowing your motor.
upside is more power, and if the turbo kit is pieced together correctly with proper tuning, the risk of blowing the motor up is minimal to none. and a 1.1 ar on a turbo is ridiculous huge for a 5.0. you should not really need more than a 70 trim and even thats pushing it to the high rpm band for usable power. 8:1 compression will work fine and 8 to 10 pounds with a decent motor build will easily get you to 400 whp. and i also would recommend the use of megasquirt, my buddy uses it on his turbo probe and turbo miata, and another buddy uses it on his 250 shot mx6, with a knowledge tuner, it will work perfectly with your setup. im currently trying to sell my car so i can do a megasquirt setup on my 93. |
is your 93 the probe and if so is it a gt

ive got two td04-hl's and together they might be just barley big enough for a stock-ish 5.0 but i KNOW there too small for a 5.8(like i have) but the 7.3l diesels use 1.17 a/r and they run about 20psi at 1000 rpm so airflow has a lot to do with it too not just A/R. i was going to put a 7.3 turbo on my 5.8 but they sold the truck i was going to get it from.:glare: the TD04-HL is maxxed out on size at like 2.5l. hope this helps
