Default true duals

my dad has a 95 f150 302 auto ext cab long bed with completely stock exhaust, i have a 95 f150 302 auto ext cab short bed with true duals and glass packs, they both get around 12 mpg.. i thought high flow exhaust was supposed to help with this? are the glass packs restricting air flow? and help is appreciated.

no glass packs flow pretty well for what they are. is your driving styles the same? i would bet he's a little lighter on the peddle. do you both have the same air filters? is his motor fresher(less miles)? do you have the same gear ratio? theres alot that plays into it.

And the fact that glass packs do not help with MPG. if your looking for fuel efficiency you have to get a aftermarket muffler like flowmaster, magnaflow, etc. A common one people like is the Flowmaster super 40 and super 44

The problem with mileage today is the brain dead enviro libs are making the gas companies put all kinds of crap in our gas such as up to 20% methanol, which does not do anything but make us waste gas for a fake global warming agenda.

I have a 91 f150, and I'm getting around 10 with mine, 118k on the original motor, and a leaky exhaust. I think the only reason mine isint gettin 12 or better is cause someone thought it would be a great idea to put a visor over the windshield... If your lookin for economy, slow down and use the cruise a lot, that's what I do now and it helps. And putting on a flowmaster muffler vs glasspacks would give you better back pressure and still sound tough, personally I think glasspacks sound tinny anyways, granted they are a cheaper alternative. If you have the cash I'd say flowmaster first.

his truck is completely stock.. 100% i have K&N intake, ford 9mm racing wires, new plugs with around 500 miles on them, dist cap and rotor from msd, and also msd ignition coil, new water pump, new oxygen sensor with about 1000 miles on it. and actually not really, most of the time he's pretty much on the floor, and he pulls a cattle trailer and such, and i go pretty easy on mine.

check the door VIN sticker, it'll say the axle code and someone here can look it up for you. My 92 has H9 for the axle code and thats a 3.55 diff.
or it may say right on it, like my front one does

unless you mean transmission, not sure if E40D's ever differed...
