Default Transmission worrys

I have a 1993 f150 5 speed 4.9 4x4 193000 miles. I bought the truck about a month ago. I went to put truck in reverse and it went in but immediately stalled as i let the clutch out. so i push in the clutch and restart the truck let off the clutch to move backwards and stalls again. Now i am thinking something is wrong note that i have only been driving a manual for about a month so i am still getting the true hang of it but i know i am better than stalling it like this. I let my foot off the clutch and it stays on the floor my heart sank as i began to panic and worry something is really messed up. after i kicked the clutch pedal twice it finally went back to its normal position and i drove home fine but worried its gonna majorly fail on me. the clutch has always been strong with no play at all and has shifted like a dream. Do i have any true concerns or am i just being paranoid?

You probably had air in the line the 95 I had did that once and never did it again. And make sure your clutch resivoir isn't low.

This is a sign of a slave cylinder going bad. If it didn't do it before and its always had fluid then there is no air in the lines and the slave cylinder is going to go. Mine did this two days before the cylinder died. Simple replacement... drop the tranny and remove the two bolts holding the cylinder in the bell housing.

Lol simple replacement. Maybe for those who have removed it 3 times already

But yeah its a good sign the clutch salve is failing, a common issue that requires the transmission to be removed and the clutch slave replaced. First verify you have fluid in the clutch master reservoir which is next to the brake booster and look for any signs of brake fluid from the transmission bell housing or around the clutch master reservoir.

I don't have any drips under my truck from leaks but I do see fluid on the trans where I believe seals would be. I am not mechanically inclined but i can do most normal repairs. I have driven the truck for 3 days no problems. I hope fluid is just low. I hope to learn all about my truck mechanically and be able to fix anything myself in time.

Just went out to check the fluid level. I found what I believe is what I am looking for. Its a cap besides the brake booster and has a balloon type seal on the cap. But I am wondering why I am adding dot 3 brake fluid in it when its for the transmission?

I have the same res. on my truck and dealt with the clutch slave befor
its similar to a break line system I know it sounds funny to add dot 3
but its best to use in that closed system make sure you bleed the system
while your under there

Did i need to be under the truck to check the fluid level? If so i did not find the reservoir for it. Now I am confused where should i be looking? Also how would I bleed he system?
Thanks for all your help guys.

The res is next to the brake booster on the firewall on the driver side.
To bleed the clutch theres a valve like on your brake cal. And the valve
is on the bell housing right under the line for the clutch.

Since you said you drove home with no more problems tells me you just need to practice more on your clutch accelerator coordination.

If the truck had been sitting for a while it's very possible the disk was stuck and you broke it loose obviously because you were able to drive it.
