1500-2k for a rebuild, up to 3k for upgraded internals.

1000 would be fair, especially family. If it just a simple rebuild. If it needs internal parts, he may have some spares laying around. Back in the day, I had all sorts of spare parts. I use to charge 500 Labor+parts.
