transmission problem...cant figure a solution
First time ever posting on a forum, usually I'm able to find the info and do it myself but this has gone to a new level. I have a 1994 ford f150 302 4x4 with e4od transmission. I was driving to work the other day coming around a turn when all of a sudden it seemed I was out of gear. I pulled aside and parked it. When I started it back up I put it in drive and it would rev real high in first before finally shifting into 2nd, same thing for third. The shifts were horrible jerks( sometimes broke traction). It continues to have this problem of revving high before hard shifting. I pulled the harness and did a continuity test of every wire(passed the test), dropped the pan and did a minor flush( there were some tiny pieces of metal, nothing extreme. Color was nice red, no brown, no burn.) I checked voltage to the bottom of the shift solenoid, there was voltage but I'm not sure if there were certain voltages I should've been checking for. I put a new filter in and refilled to correct level. The guy before me put an aftermarket trans cooler with a filter, seemed kinda clogged so I just eliminated it( no purpose when I have a good transmission filter I imagine). I checked my lines to make sure of no clogs, all good. I replaced the vss for the heck of it. I have no error codes and my OD light does not blink. Speedometer works fine it seems, engine runs great so i dont think it could be tps.Lastly I disconnected the battery and let the computer reset. I'm not able to drive it for fear I might damage it, plus getting up to speed is near impossible without flooring it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm at a loss. I'd hate to give the local transmission shop my cash if I could do it myself for cheaper. Thanks in advance,Cory
