transmission help.......
hey guys i recently bought a 95 f150 and i noticed that it shifts kinda hard from 1st to 2nd, took it to my local transmission shop and they said that more than likely it was the solenoids, ive been looking around here and it seems pretty common among these trucks. what i noticed was different about my truck is that i have throttle response problems along with the hard shift, the reason i think that its the tranny is i drive with o/d on at all times and when i drive with it off no throttle response problems at all. it tends to lagg with the o/d on especially during acceleration from about 40 to 60 mph. my question is would the replacing the solenoid pack fix this problem or would i have to rebuild the whole thing? oh by the way its a 5.0 with a e4od tranny, thanks
ok so i bought a unit from oreilys for fords and this is what it gave me (cm codes) were 157 and 334, got a 111 system pass on the koeo test. will drive to work and perfom koer test when i get there and then post. i think the drive to work would be enough of a warm up
MAF sensor connection not too good contact or MAF sensor dirty or MAF sensor bad. Use only MAF of Electronic contact cleaner on sensor filaments. Don't touch w/ anything, especially your finger.
EGR position sensor bad or EGR valve not closing completely when it should be. No complete close could be EGR regulator providing Vac at warm idle when there should be none. Or could be caused by deposits in the EGR valve not allowing complete closure.
However, showing no active KOEO codes & C/M only, I'd disconnect the battery for at least 5 minutes to clear the Kept Adaptive Memory. Then put some miles on it & retest. This is to see if we can knock the codes out of C/M.

will do retest of koeo and cm codes when i get off work, so i did the koer test and it gave me two codes 116 engine coolant temp higher or lower than expected, this may be due to the fact that previous owner removed the thermostat, would this cause the temp gauge to not work at all? anyway, the other code was 225 knock sensor fault during response test. will try that test again later maybe did not reach WOT. will post results later.
