Transmission

I pulled the shifter all the way out of my tranny (m5r2) so I could replace it and I accidently left it in 3rd, will this cause any problems when installing the new one or no?

Just put e brake on, push clutch to relax drivetrain, put shifter in with the shifter in 3rd gear pos, put shifter in and try to get it in neutral.
