Default trans shifting to early

so whenever i go up a hill or when i accelerate slowly the transmission shifts too soon and kinda rumbles. i really noticed it when pulling my boat this weekend. how do i remedy this situation

would this be a speed sensor issue? or is it something to do with the tv cable? i have never worked on transmissons before so i need your guys help

Your truck has the E40D transmission so there isn't a T.V cable.
It could be the speed sensor or the throttle position sensor maybe.

I'm sure someone will have a better answer for you though.
