How do i edintify my trans type? I have a 1994 F150 Ext Cab, 5.0 4x4, manual. Went o Autozone link i found here while searching, and it looks like the m5od, but when i called a shop, told him my truck, he thought it to be a e4od. OD is slipping out of gear while driving. Have 208,000 on it so figured it was just time ta rebuild.....any thoughts? Guidance? LOL. TY in adavnce.

5 speed manual is the M5OD or could be the ZF, F150's usually got the M5OD. Automatic overdrive is the E4OD. You can try changing the shifter bushings and see if that helps.

If you told this shop you had a manual 5 speed and they thought it was a E4OD I sure wouldn't take anything there, as the E4OD is an automatic. If it is a manual and it is poping out of gear you have a worn bearing or shifting fork, or both.
