Default tranny mount problems. kind of an emergency

I cant get my tranny up high enough to put the new mount in. The old one came out in two pieces. But the new needs another inch or so to get it in. I really dont want to mess with this crossmember. Please help

i hate to say it but, mess with your cross member, then you may have to angle the mount in and realgin your cross member, its a pain but i take my cross member out when i do the mount or clutch or really anything to the tranny.

what is it cathing on? if its the drive shaft drop the shaft then put it up more. if not you can pull the engine up and out just enough to put the mount in. the cross member is riveted in i think and will be a bitch to take out and replace plus not the best thing to mess up.

To late. I just kept cranking until me suspension went up about 3". Then i had enough room. Those damn bolts are in there good now. Here what my old one looked like. It broke the metal casing in 2. Rubbed marks about 1/4" deep into my t-case. The little internal metal bracket(silver) wasnt even in the old one.

Both of mine were in two pieces as you can see in the picture. The engine was against the heater box for a long time, wedged itself there after months of dancing around under the hood.
