tranny issue please help
i have a 1990 ford f150 automatic with a 5.8l with a e40d when i start the truck runs great shifts great but when i drive it around town for over 2 hrs
the shifting on it goes crazy 1 gear ok second gear ok third gear well thats were it stays and i need to let it cool off once it cools off it drive like new any ideas thanks

well guys it has a new filter and the oil that ford recomends for the ford it has a new mlps sensor i think thats what its called but when i start the truck every morning i can do burn outs in drive and in reverse but when it warms up no reverse and it does not want to come out of the 3nd gear
well no check engine is on but i am going tomorrow to see if i could get the codes and then i will tell you guys what they are i dont know cr@p when it comes to trannys

well i took it to the shop and these are the code 33 insoff erg flow, 56 air flow maf/vaf signal high circuit open, 67 they said this is the one for the tranny pnp or clucth switch circuit failure i think this is the neutrual switch that i already replaced i am going to buy a new wire harness for the tranny they look bad but any ideas guys thank you
56 is not a MAF code because your truck isn't MAF. I don't remember and can't find what VAF is right now but I suspect it doesn't pertain to your truck either. An alternate definition for 56 is TOT reads −40<deg.>F or circuit open (E4OD). I don't know exactly what that means but I do know that the computer isn't reading the temperature of the tranny right.
