tranny
Either
M5OD- Mazda tranny, highway geared, lighter duty
ZF42 or 47, the numerical assignments stand for the torque it can handle, 420ft lbs or 470 ft lbs. The ZF's are lower geared for pulling, one has an internal slave cylinder, one has external (think the 47 is external)
The M5OD wil have horizontal and vertical casting ribs (also internal slave) the ZF will have diagonal.
Your diff gear should be either on a plate by the diff cover, or a tag secured by a diff cover bolt. Gearing will be in lower left hand corner of either, number next to it is your rear end size (usually 8.8)
