Default tow ready?

I have a 1994 F150 that has the plug for electronic trailer brakes under the dash. I can plug the new controller directly in to it and power it up, but I can't find where the wires come to the back of the truck to do a 7 pin hook up. I have looked all over underneath and I don't see any extra wires other than the ones for a 4 flat. Did Ford put this brake controller plug under the dash,b ut then run it nowhere unlees you had the right tow package? I don't have a problem running the wires that I need to do the brake controller, but I know it would be much easier just to plug it in and find the wires in the back, if they are there.

Thanks,
Calvin

I don't know where they would be, but if the 4 are back there then the 3 you are missing are the reverse lamps, the full time power and the brake wire to the trailer.

Thank you, I knew that I was missing 3 wires, but could not find them in the back of the truck. They are in the plug under the dash and go to the firewall, but after taking the modular plug apart I found out they do not come through the firewall. I read in a post somewhere that if your truck did not come tow ready, it is not wired for it. What got me though was that there was power at the plug under the dash, but that is the only wire that comes through the firewall to the plug. I will just have to run the 3 wires from my 7 way adapter to the front of the truck. Once again thanks,

Calvin
