Default Torque converter.

What and where is the thing you have to turn to get the Torque Converter drain plug centered over the hole in the housing. Not sure if it makes a difference what transmission its on but Its an E40D. A picture would be nice too if possible, Thanks!

Disconnect your coil, pull the fuse/relay for the fuel pump and have someone "bump" the starter until it's where you want to be. Or remove the spark plugs (so you don't fight compression) and put a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt and turn the crank by hand.

Is there a right and wrong way to turn the crank? (Clockwise/counterclockwise)

I haven't had an issue turning the crank either way, although you probably want to disconnect your battery in case you manage to start the truck by turning the crank.
