Default extended cab to reb cab swap

ok so i might but a truck to use the frame off of but its an extended cab short bed and my truck body i wonna use is a reg cab short bed. i was curious if i could just use my reg cab and find a long bed or is the wheel base to different?

According to wikipedia:

Regular cab long bed wheelbase is 133"
Extended cab short bed wheelbase is 138.8"

Like he stated. There's about four inches difference. I was going to put an extended cab short box on a f250 single cab long box. Saved myself the hastle and did a cab swap. Still gotta find a new box. But much easier

you could always weld 4" of bed in. then you could say you had the only 8'4" ford bed in the world.

Why would you rather a single cab over an extended? Just trying to find some pros and cons for you

no real reason for a single cab over extended other than i like the look better just personal prefrence but i had thought of either shortening the fram of extending a bed
