timming mark question
didnt find no pics just people saying they have a 2. but like i said their is like a needle under my crank sensor and the timming mark on the timming gear cover. so i dont thank their is 3 on my truck. it still dont explain the spout conector if their is no change or the timming mark on the crank pulley doesnt change at all hooked up or unhooked it stays pointing right at the ground.
Well... have you been able to see the timing mark with the light? Here's a thread for an 88. Should be in the same place.

mine does not have a timming mark on te motor like that. and no the only way you can see the marks on the crank is shine the timing light under the truck and if your standing up in front of the truck the mark thats on the crank pulley that supposed to match up with the one on the motor is pointed right to the grown straight down. and its no way near a timing mark. the only timing marks on the motor like i said is on the cover and just what looks like a needle that sticks out right below the crank sensor. mine is a 96 and is obd2. and mine has a crank sensor thouse ones dont. could that be some reasone? but my timing mark on the motor dont look nothing like the one in that pic on the post you just put up.
and before i should worry about the timming marks shouldnt i figure out whats going on with the spout connector? because if it works right down it change the timing when you unhook it? becasue i can unhook this one and it dont do anythang motor runs the same timing marks on the crank stays the same dont even move a hair.
Post a picture of your motor so we can see what your looking at. The timing doesn't change when you pull the spout at idle. The engine idle is 10*. With the spout out it stays at 10*. With it in place it moves up to around 27* at 2000 rpm.
you dont have a tab like in Post #7 of that link??? are you 100% sure? it could be covered by gobs of grease and road grime... get in there with a rag and start cleaning... those are the ONLY 2 tabs on the 300-6....
I'll bet if you unhooked the SPOUT and hooked a timing light to the #1 cylinder and shined a light down there you would see the mark in the general vicinity...
it is NOT the wide mark on the Balancer...it is a small thin mark/line
