timing problem
i have a 1995 f150 just got the motor rebuilt and put the motor in and started it and timed it. so i thought.. took it for a drive and it is very low on power. and ideas on what to do. thanks
What is it timed at? I am pretty sure around 8-12 deg advance is what you want, if it reads wrong try advancing the dist. If the timing is still off, the rebuilder might have not lined up the proper marks on the gears.
ok. it is 10 deg. before top dead center and.. i worked on it some more lastnight. now it's not getting fuel and wont run but before it got to where it wouldn't run. it was only running on 6 cylinders i have checked and checked and checked my wires i have no idea what to check anymore. thanks for the help
Check the fuse for the fuel pump relays, I am pretty sure they are under the hood, as far as running on 6 cyl, is it the spark plug wires or closed\fouled plugs? Or it might be clogged or bad injectors.
i have checked that to.. u can take the air hose's of the front of the throttle body and spray just a little bit of starting fluid in it and it will start and run for just a second. would low fuel presure cause the injectors to not spray? thanks for all the help
