Yeah, there's no adjusting the timing on a 96. It's all in the computer.

96 was a good year... new computer but still keeping the old body style.

It's gotta have a base timing tho right? I'm guessing zero then the comp does the rest.

As far as I know built in 96 is OBD2. I suppose there are built in 95, sold in 96's that are OBD1's. Who know's? That's just alway's been the rule of thumb.

10 BTDC /then ECU add.

I mean on the non adjustables. There's no timing marks to go by.

There's a crank trigger for the crank sensor so nothin at all on the ballancer

Ok so I dinkered with my timing some more and my HO will run 18 or 19 base timing without detonating... Is this normal? Is this bad? Or has my balancer slipped and is fooling me?

18-19 BTDC under load sounds a little hot. I run 16 BTDC w/87 octane. On long hard road trips (80-85 mph through the tanks non-stop), I'll run 89 octane @16BTDC.
