Default Ticking During Accel and Decel.

Hi i have an 1989 F150 i just picked up the other day. It has this wierd ticking noise sounds like from the rear of the truck. I only here it when i am accelerating from a stop or slowing down for a stop light and such. its has a 300 straight 6 4 speed with overdrive and its a 4x4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The sound gets faster when i accel and slows down when i decel.

I am not 100% that is it coming from the rear, it just sounds like it is. U Joints was what i was thinking. Thanks for the replies. i will try to pin point exactly if its the front or rear and go from there.
