throttle position sensor installation
Can anyone tell me how to install the throttle position sensor. I put it on but I'm not sure if I have to rotate it 180 degrees so the wires are pointing up towards the throttle bypass valve. I am working on a 1987 f150 xlt lariat 4.9L.

It should be orientated the same way the old one was, from Chilton:
Install the TPS so that the wiring harness is parallel with the venturi bores, then, rotate the TPS clockwise to align the scribe marks.
(CAUTION) Slide the rotary tangs into position over the throttle shaft blade, then rotate the TPS ClockWise ONLY to the installed position. Failure to installl the TPS in this manner will result in excessive idle speeds.
