The temp sensor for the gauge is on the passenger side of the bock at the firewall under the intake one wire going to it. The other temp sensor its at the thermostic housing
With 2 wires going to it and its for the computer.

Is this truck running rich? I don`t think the ect is a driveablity sensor. Is the original temp wire there? If so unplug the after market one and try the original one. Sounds like the pip is warming up. Pull codes for one thing. Other wise we are just guessing what could be wrong.

I let the truck warm up this morning till it was definitely at operating temp, and pulled the code 118.

As usual after the truck warmed up and i went to start it again it did not catch.

Does anyone have any experience with this problem/code?

The map, ect, air temp,o2 all work with the computer and if one or more not working right could give a rich condition. Did you pull vac on the eingine? If so what was it? If you got the proper volts to the ect just change it. I`m not sure of the spec is off the top of my head and heading out to strip parts off a truck right now.

Thanks a lot!
everything seems fine, voltage matched up with the chart here: http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=28

Should I just go ahead and order the new sensor?

On that note, again I ask if anyone knows a good Canadian site to order from? Don't want to pay extra shipping and duty... makes a cheap part not so cheap

When my starter solenoid was starting to go bad, the truck would crank, and crank, and slowly slow down it's cranking and sometimes not start. Only when hot also

So i thought i knew where the ECT sensor(not to the gauge) was located but I do not. Could anybody be so kind as to post a picture of its location on the 302?

Many thanks for the help
