Default Which tank is easier to remove

I'm trying to get a tired 1991 f150 running that has sat in a barn for 5 years. I suspect both pumps are on there way out I will probably only use one tank. I just wanted to know which one would be easier to drop? To get it to run.

Not really sure which one would be easier to drop. I am thinking that the rear tank may be easier to drop, if only because it is more accessable than the front tank. Either way, good luck with the new(old) truck.

I'd vote for the rear - it's smaller, easier to access, etc. You may get some cross-filling between tanks if you just repair one, though - mine does it. Seems like once the front (bad) tank is totally full, it does ok. If I drain some fuel out of the front tank, it gives me fuel pressure issues until the front one is full again.

I could send funds via paypal if I can use the pump in the rear tank.

Nah - it was a joke... My front pump is completely dead and the return valve leaks fuel back into the tank.

Sorry to get you excited - keep an eye on eBay - they come along for a decent price now and then. Even your local auto parts store should have a decent price if you can replace it yourself.

You can try rockauto.com

I got a Bosch fuel pump for a 93 Dakota that I used to have. It was about $150 less than anything I could find at any of the local/national autoparts stores.

Good luck!
