Default Tach problem

i have a dash tach and recently it has been acting up. i went mudding with the truck on saturday befor easter and has been sitting since. on the way back from the place we went my tach was acting up. it was going all over the place in 5th at highway speeds and i had replaced the clutch pedal rod that goes to the clutch master cylinder cause the plastic one broke and so i replaced it with a metal one from an older truck and had to customize it cause it was a little longer and i got it close, i thought that was the problem cause the clutch was maybe not fully engaged so when i got home i took a grinder and made it to size of original one. now yesterday i was driving it and on the highway it was acting up. when i would put the cruise on it was fine but if i used my pedal it would act up in 4th and 5th and it felt like a couple times that the truck shut off (like it was missing bad). and then today i showed my dad and now it does it in the city. he thinks it is the coil cause it cuts off power. when on the highway back from mudding it felt like one time the truck was about to shut off i seen rpm drop below 1000 then it kicked back on. i have and aftermarket MDI coil, i have old one so i will stick that one on to see if that is the problem. what do you guys think it could be?

here is a video...

well found out the problem. my dad went to go start my truck today and it started up and then ran for like 3 sec and then died. and wouldnt start again. i plugged my spark tester between the coil and cap and it sparked once and was a orange spark. so i went to replace it with stock one and then when pulling the plug off where the computer wires are one broke off so i ran to junk yard and got a used one and now with the stock one it runs really good now and has power. now i dont think i can get that msd coil replaced cause i bought it in october and i think it was a 90 day warranty.

A wire broke off the MSD box? Can't you open it up and solder a new wire on?
