I believe that Ford switch over to the borg cases in 1980. According to my research any Ford Transfer will match up with the transmission splines. The strongest case is the New Process 205, this is a cast iron case with gears instead of a chain to drive the front axle.
Alright I took delivery on my new transfer case. I noticed they just cut the shifter linkage in half before they sent it. Looks like it slides over a little rubber bushing and onto the little lever that goes into the actual case. Do you just need to force this thing off?
