Hey guys, I did some searching and maybe I just didn't find the right topics...

I'm looking to do a 4.9 swap, mine is in bad shape so it's more cost effective to get a different motor. I have an 88 F-150 with a 4.9 and I there's a place near by that has a couple 4.9 motors that I could get to swap in.

My first question, will any year motor swap in with ease?

My second question, I have the C6 3 speed transmission (I believe that's what it is)...should any motor bolt right up to it?

Small differences on the pollution control crap but they'll all work.

 

Thankfully I live in a part of Pennsylvania where I don't have to worry about emissions/pollution control. If that were to be the only differences then I'm in the clear.
