ok so i just bought a rearend housing and all from a junkyard with a 8.8 rearend and they told me it came out of a 1995 f150 and there was a sway bar attached and on my 1996 there is no sway bar and i heard somewhere that the only trucks in this year model that have sway bars are the lightnings is this true or are they on other trucks to???

 

Mine has the sway bar. It's an '87 base model F150. No options whatsoever.

 

yea i have a 96 and its the same

 

I have a 96 XL, 4.9L, as basic as it gets and it has a 7/8" sway bar both front and rear.

 

oh cuz my 96 doesnt have one and its an xl base model

 

You can put the sway bar on if you want to. The sway bar links bolt right to the frame, the holes should already be there. If the junkyard torched them off you will have to get new ones, and get the bolts while you're at it. I'll take pictures if you want to see where it mounts, but if you go to the junkyard for the parts you will see there. Let me know.
