Supercharger
I have a 1987 full size Ford Bronco. It is now a long travel King shocked cut and turned beams gusseted and plated etc... I have gears with lockers and axle upgrades and after market hub setup. I rebuilt with extras my transfer case and have a Monster trans good to 650 hp. I live in California so I am looking for a well built block AFR C.A.R.B heads and a super charger. What super charger is available and the best for Street/Dirt with low rpm boost for my Bronco?
You did all that yourself, but you need internet advice on a blower? And you forgot to mention what engine you're putting it on? Surely not a stock '87 Bronco engine. Go to a local speed shop, and let them build you a blown engine.
Steve83 My bad it is the 302 fuel injection motor. Putting in a 302 or 331 or 347 maybe a dart block AFR CA legal heads. I did a lot of it myself. I bought the lift cut & turned beams and arms and the rear upper shock tower installed. I installed it removed it for modification installed it for working removed it for powder coating and installed it complete with mechanical drive. Then on 80 mile poker run shake down the radius arm broke from the beam. I took it all back apart added thicker plates a vertical to beam connection and plated gusseted my beams with a machine shop cutting my metal from my 1/8 wood shapes. Then had a friend help a good welder. I bought the trans built from Monster in FL. and rebuilt my transfer case with help FROM YOU STEVE THANK YOU for the info not in the manual. I had the gears and lockers done by the gear shop. I did the 96 glass front fenders, hood, grill, lights etc.myself and got 96 spindles and calipers hubs spindle nuts manual hubs outer 4130 axles and the F250 slip shaft trick, a winch and 3g hi amp alt. myself. I have done timing chains and belts head gaskets on other trucks but never built a motor. I am planning on a performance motor and in CA. There seems to be a lot of ways to make mistakes for the right parts machine work etc.... getting the motor for what i want to perform and last with $$ parts. I have heard of a lot of engine builds with issues and want to be sure it is done well from an experienced builder. I wish I knew more than I do in the engine builds. I know elevators and escalators of all kinds very well. That does not help for this much. I am getting closer and have funds to do it just want moderate HP and important torque done well.
I must salute you Steve for the information you help so many with online too.

I think you'd be miles & dollars ahead buying a good used factory supercharged engine (like from a Mustang) or an EcoBoost, and dropping it in exactly the way it's supposed to be (ALL emissions & accessories), and driving the snot out of it.
Steve83 That could be a good option if I knew how good of condition it was but are Mustang engines built for the power at lower RPM's that trucks perform? My other upgrades are pretty new I am not very short of $$ at this time and have not bought a vehicle for s long time and am building this to be like a new truck. I do not want to buy a Raptor with 13" F & 13.9 R travel or another and the cost and labor to make it close to what I have. I do have a preference for Broncos as well. I have never put a performance motor in any of my vehicles. I had a 81 Toyota many years ago I bought with a great motor I needed black market smogs for and was fun but would eat a trans every year racing others on the street. It was a 4x4 but not great suspension. I will take that idea into a possible option and look around to see what I can find though. A Ford lightning engine would not be bad maybe.
A call I just got off of from a performance shop just told me that I can not run a supercharger on my 87 because there are none that have a CARB number for my 87? HHMMM

A compression test and (if it's still in-chassis) oil pressure & vacuum tests will reveal almost everything relevant about a used engine. They only take a few minutes. This was the 2nd of 3 JY engines I've bought so far, and all are still running great.

The first is in my Bronco, but I didn't test it because it was so new at the time. The 3rd is in my CV, but I didn't have to test it either because I knew the wrecker driver who drove it onto his flatbed & hauled it to the JY.
No, but neither are superchargers. So it seems like you need to pick what you're building first. That's what I'm doing to this truck...

(phone app link)Why not?So why start now? A Bronco will never be a performance vehicle, no matter what engine is in it. It's a 4WD brick. You might want to explore that option here:

There's a separate forum for "clones" (other trucks with L engines, which is what yours would be), and for later Ls (like the ones that might have factory SC).As long as you aren't trying to register it for road use, that shouldn't be a problem.
