I've thought of doing that too but never talked to anybody about prices or how difficult it would be

Have you already beefed up the rest of the engine and drivetrain?

Make sure you get a root style super charger. I've heard bad reviews on the types. Also your stock 302 can only hold up to 300hp, so bore it out and get better flowing heads, not necessarily the GT40 heads but more on the lines of like edelbrock or ford racing.

Kenne belle is the only ones I've seen make a efi roots for the 5.0 but they're like 2500+
Though I'd be worried about the case itself having watwer pumped through it to cool the air.

The the 5.0 HO has the same heads as the truck 302. They are the E7 heads.

However, the 5.0 HO does have Forged pistons, which is exactly what you need for a supercharger. Just an FYI, the truck has cast pistons.

Also, you'll need a good sturdy head gasket (Fel-Pro 9333pt2 comes to mind) so that everything will hold together.

Upgrading from head bolts to studs is another means of insurance to keep things together.

Sure it can be done...sky's the limit only restrained by your imagination and your budget. Tons of info on the net about this. If you do the research and build it accordingly it will perform better and last longer. The current technology available can make it easy if you match everything and build the proper drivetrain to handle whatever power level you choose to run with. My 347 Stang has 10 lbs of boost and over 40,000 hardcore, beat the living s@#t out if miles and I only change the oil and plugs.(and rear tires....LOTS of rear tires!) I biult it just for that and it hasn't let me down yet. You can easily throw 5 psi at a stock 302 and be safe. It's NOT cheap though. Power adders are expensive. The more boost, the beefier the drivetrain has to be. Have fun with it and build something you can count on. There's just nothing like that smile you get when the boost comes on and you feel the pull and the whine of the turbo/scharger spoolin up!!!

Enjoy yourself
