no my truck is not dancing. there is a loud popping coming from the steering box and randomly the steering will lock up and not turn right then will pop and free up. so i plan on changing the box. any luck with a particular brand. so far the best price i have found is a cardone brand from advanced auto parts, or going to the junkyard.

i would also like to replace the rag joint as well, any thoughts on cheap upgrades?

i will also do the saginaw pump swap if i can find one but the box is the main concern.

any thoughts on brands and parts i may not be thinking of that i should get will be appreciated.

 

Getting the old pitman arm off is usually 1/2 the battle. A new one of those would save a lot of cursing.
As for the rag gear - it's your steering, no such thing as "cheap". Buy a new one, it'll outlast the truck.
