Default Steering column

I've got a 96 f250 that I took a steering column out if and bought a replacement the junkyard said its for a 92-96 f250.. Problem is the new column and old column only a few wires plug in but there's a few that have nowhere to plug in..

92-96 will work on 92-96 with a few exceptions. Sometimes you may have more wiring than needed (ie. Different options) and sometimes you may have less than what you need. These trucks are interchangeable but details are what make the difference so just because they say its for your truck doesn't mean so. 92 and 93 don't have airbags, 94+ does... Just an example.

I may be wrong, but I thought the driver airbag was standard for the 250's in 1996, just like it was for the 150's in 1994.

Interesting. I always thought it became standard. Anyway even though your new column has an airbag and is a little different in that aspect, the rest should be the same. The only difference between the old and the new should be the addition of the actual bag on the wheel and the airbag circuitry, along with any extra options the donor truck may have had over your truck.
