if you hear the pumps prime then the fuel pump relays are not the problem. thats all i can think of besides cleaning the iac valve.

alright, more news.
today it died again and it wouldnt start back up. i was thinking to hit the gas because i didnt know if that would work. it did, as soon as i hit the gas it fired right up. nd then it died again. so after that i tried to start it up, wouldnt start. as soon as i hit the gas it fired right up. but when i turn the key on, i can hear at least one prime, i have two, but the front gas tank has a huge hole in the bottom. i was thinking it might be the back pump being bad, so im going to attempt to try to pull some codes. but until then, crappy crappy days will come

Check the fuel pressure. There's a port on the rail you just need the gauge.

The fuel rail on the intake manifold has a port that you screw the gauge into. Then turn on the key and watch the gauge. Then start the truck and watch the gauge. Then remove and cap the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator (also located on the rail) and watch the gauge.
