Default starting issues?

since i went mudding with my truck this summer ive noticed that when i go to start my truck the starter seems to drag(i think). when i go to start it it makes a weird noise when starting it and after i let key go it makes a weird noise disengaging. and im wondering could it be the starter or could it posibly be the selinoid?

solenoid is fine...its only job is to supply voltage to the starter...if it makes noise starting and disengaging it is the starter itself

Spend the money on a new starter your going to distroy your flywheel and your not going to like that.....unless you like pulling the trany.

Probably got mudd in the starter. Take it off the truck, disassemble it and clean it out. Or you may just have to replace it.
