Mine is a 5.0. I am pretty sure its between the 2 gas tanks mounted to the frame. At least thats what I have found online.

It looks like I need to find the shrader valve on the fuel rail on the motor and depress it and relieve the pressure. I just need to hit Autozone and get a filter and the tool to remove those connectors.

OK, I replaced the fuel filter. I cut it in half after I removed it and it was amazing the truck was even running with a filter that dirty.
Anyway, I sorted out ever issue with this truck except 1.
COLD START STALL.
When the motor is cold it starts immediately, idles high as normal and after about 30-45 seconds it stalls. I restart and its fine after that.
Without rehashing everything I did to this truck, it has a total complete tune up, motor runs incredibly good, super smooth, actually decent on gas and the only issue is the COLD START STALL.
When I first got the truck it would cold start stall and also hunt for idle. I removed the IACV, it was really dirty, cleaned it, reinstalled it and it stopped hunting but it still stalls on the first cold start only. My Nissan Maxima did this exact same thing and I cleaned out the IACV and reinstalled it and it never did it again.
I am thinking maybe the IACV in my truck is just bad because it runs so good and this is the only issue. Truck is throwing no codes.
Any suggestions?

You are not going to like my answer but it's the only method that works to resolve problems and give you the best opportunity to get help. Diagnose. Diagnose. Diagnose.

1. Get a Haynes or Other Reference manual.
2. Retrieve codes. This is critical.
3. Do basic maintenance, reset computer and then retrieve codes again.

On a scale form 1-10 I'm a 5 when it comes to keeping my truck running. But I've been able to save myself a ton of aggravation and money by following the simple approach above.

Default another update

I am still getting the cold start stall.
Starts immediately, runs great for about 40 seconds and then immediately stalls. Restarts instantly and won't stall after that.
Thursday I replaced the IACV and today I replaced every vacuum hose I could find. It hasn't changed.
Start the truck when the motor is cold and the check engine light flashes 3 times. Motor runs great for 40 seconds and then immediately stalls.
Motor is throwing no codes at all.
The only thing left is to clean the EGR valve but I am actually a little nervous to tackle that gigantic nut.
From what I read.. the EGR valve wouldn't cause this issue.

Any suggestions are appreciated !!!

Pull the diagnostic codes from the computer if the engine light has been flashing I guarantee its been throwing codes in not sure on this but I think your model of truck still had the map sensor you might want to look at that I know the 96s have maf I think they started midway through 95

There are no codes. When I initially start the truck from a cold start the check engine light flashes 3 times and shuts off. Truck stalls 30 to 40 seconds later.
Once engine is warm or even luke warm the check engine light no longer flashes at start up.

Went out to start the truck today. Its 15 degrees out and it has been sitting since yesterday afternoon. First attempt started with the check engine light flashing 4 times, it started and stalled immediately. Second attempt it started, ran for about 15 seconds and stalled. 3rd time it started and ran fine. Then I noticed the little battery light was on the dash even though the voltmeter on the dash was reading it was charging great. Took it over to autozone to have them check the alternator and it tested out fine putting out 14.6v. Diode test and everything checked out fine. The guy there told me that it could have been the 3 attempts to start it in this cold weather. When he was testing the alternator the idle all of a sudden jumped up probably to around 1200rpms (similar to the fast idle when its cold) and then dropped back down to normal. Anyway, I went to the gym, came out and the charging light is off and it stayed off all day and the truck ran and started perfect. It always does after it warms up. When I got home I decided to pull the codes to see if there were any. No codes. What I got was a single flash on the CEL. 4 seconds later I got 3 single flashes with 2 second pauses inbetween. It did this 3 times in a row. 111 111 111. Then there was a long pause, another single flash and nothing after that.
I did this twice and the same exact thing happened both times. According to the codes manual I found online this means system passed and there are no codes.
That leaves me back to the mystery cold start stall. Could a dirty or stuck EGR valve cause this? What about the TPS or the MAF. I think my truck has the MAF. There are no codes so I don't know what to look for and I dumped enough money into this truck over the last 3 weeks.
