Good for race applications, not really for daily driving cause your engine will be running faster.

Like that other canadian said, and you only would need one if you were running a much more aggresive camshaft and had lost low end torque or idle quality, and had issues with engine stalling at low rpm. In most situations in 4 wheeling it will make your truck harder to control, and cause it to dig holes. Great mod for mud bogging though.
Lock up converters in a driver are fine, the lock up in high gear is the same, and some better non lockup converters are pretty tight at crusing speeds, cheaper ones feel like they are slipping all the time.
