Default weird alternator question

i have a 93 f150 5.0. its got a 3G off brand 130 amp alt in there now. its less than 5 months old and when my efans turn on, the volt meter drops way down. i have a new battery ( replaced after the alt) and all the wires seem solid.

my question is can i put a motorcraft voltage regulator on the offbrand alt and if so, would it even make a difference?

mass-air also has a wiring harness for 130-200 amp alts with a heavier gauge wire and such, would it be worth the 90 bucks to get it?

thanks guys!

I used some 0guage welding cable from my alternator to the solenoid ,and crimp teminals solderd on, along with some big size battery cables, didn t cost as much as the kit.

do you think thatd help? if i just upped the guage wires? i could probably source some heavier wire, but when i looked at my positive cable, it looks like it's part of a harness almost. but i'll have to double check it this coming week.
