Angry Spindle Removal

Anybody have any tricks to getting a rusted on spindle off the knuckle? I'm trying to replace my ball joints up front, but this flippin' spindle is fighting me like no other. I've tried heat and beating, but it's not moving. Any suggestions?

Once you remove the 6 nuts there is not much else but to knock it one way and then the other. They tell you to use a rubber or rawhide malet.
I went though a couple of them...I also used heat then spayed PB on it.
When it is hot and you spay the PB the pb will get in between the knuckle and spindle.. I used a block of wood and a 3LB hammer and beat it side to side and up and down...every which way...till it finally gave up.

Here are three pix I took when doing my son's ranger...basicly same deal on a the f150. PM me if you have other questions.

haha that's alright, you had me confused there for a second. finally got both sides done, sure took a hell of a lot of elbow grease and patience, but it feels good to finally have it done.

PB blaster. Liquid wrench. Penetrating oil.

When I did my ball joints, I made the mistake of not having an air-chisel to get the spindles off. So the first side took me 3-4 hours to get the first spindle off. When my buddy showed up with the air chisel, it took 10 minutes for the other one.

The best advice someone gave to me on it - beat it like you hate it.
