speedometer-odmeter

I need some help figuring how to fix my 96 f150 speedometer and odmeter. I take it one affects the other. any one experience this problem and get it fixed?

The VSS is on the rear differential and gives the signal for the speedometer. The wires to the VSS are also known to deteriorate. There's a start for ya.
