look for a shop near you that does it. Not sure where you're at, but I know there's at least 3 here in Ga. that specialize in re-calibrating speedos.

Ford makes different drive gears that fit on the end of your speedo cable where it plugs into the transmission. Pop the retainer clip off the gear, put a different one on. You need to know how far your off:http://www.pitbulltires.com/calculate.php

There's a way to do it in your truck yourself but it can only be done 3 times in the truck's lifetime.

Actually, it can be re calibrated 6times in '92 - '96/97 F150 - F450.

If you truck is of this era I will send you the link with instructions.

Other pre '92 years requires changing the gear in the tail shaft of the tranny.

His truck is an 88'. Mechanical! Different size gear drives on the tip of the Speedo cable. Takes five minutes. Use the link I gave to figure how far your off. & here's a link for the gears. There around $16. http://www.transmissioncenter.org/Fo...eter_Gears.htm

Read thru this thread. Lots of information and a Speedometer Gear Calculator to help you find the right gear. Good Luck.
