Good ol copper core plugs. Everybody has a different opinion, but for me it's either Autolite or NGK.

I've had my best success with plain copper core Autolite. I tried Motorcraft, but my truck seemed to "like" Autolite better. Also, for spark knock, you may want to check out your EGR valve and timing to make sure everything is properly functioning if you still have the issue after changing plugs.

Thanks ill prob. go with those then, this is the first step in figuring out the issue, but i replaced the EGR valve about a year ago so i hope it isnt that. Gap is .044 right? if it were a timing issue, how would i go about fixing that?

For now, change the plugs and see what that does. If it doesn't stop the pinging, circle back.

Thats the plan! also, i was going to seafoam. you think i should do it before or after the plug change? if i do it before, will it clean the old plugs and keep me from "reading" them?

Take out old plugs and look at them, re-install or replace, then seafoam

I can't get Seafoam up here anymore. The whole town was sweeped, when they were recalled. Not sure what for though.

You should seafoam it prior to changing the plugs.

What about the E3 plugs ( not with advanced timing)? I replaced the old ones with Motorcraft copper core recently in my 95 5.8.
