Default Sound insulation inside cab

I thought I had made up my mind to use this stuff inside the cab:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00URUIKAK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_12?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AXJ5VNOZL83GP https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00URUIKAK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_12?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AXJ5VNOZL83GP
But then I saw this stuff and now I'm not sure which to use:
https://www.amazon.com/Car-Insulation-Deadener-Automotive-Lightweight/dp/B016QUS1YE/ref=pd_cart_vw_2_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B016QUS1YE&pd_rd_r=9B7JR2AYA7P9JTGCX4YK&pd_rd_w=6uelg&pd_rd_wg=23qu5&psc=1&refRID=9B7JR2AYA7P9JTGCX4YK https://www.amazon.com/Car-Insulation-Deadener-Automotive-Lightweight/dp/B016QUS1YE/ref=pd_cart_vw_2_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B016QUS1YE&pd_rd_r=9B7JR2AYA7P9JTGCX4YK&pd_rd_w=6uelg&pd_rd_wg=23qu5&psc=1&refRID=9B7JR2AYA7P9JTGCX4YK
Has anyone used either of these? If so, how did it turn out?
I looked at the aluminum/asphalt flashing at the hardware store, but I think it's just way too thin to work. I'm trying to cut down on road noise since I spend about 2 hours a day in my truck. Comfort is a good thing!

If the cab is THAT noisy in an EB, something's wrong... Collapsed body mounts, exhaust leaks, misaligned doors, worn/loose wheel bearings, improperly-installed mods grounding the frame to the body... Before masking a problem, I'd spend some time looking for it. This is a Ford TSB about noise in these trucks:

This is how to find exhaust leaks, and many other noises:

I like polyurethane body mounts, and I don't find them to be any louder than vulcanized rubber. Actually, because they never sag, age, or wear, I'd describe them as quieter.

What do the tires look like, what brand/model/age are they, and what pressure are you running? How many miles since it was aligned?

Does it have this cast-Iron weight on the back of the cab?

I've used Peel&Seal and Dynamat Xtreme with good results in Broncos, which have much more internal space to echo & drone than pickups.

Your first link looks like a REALLY-EXPENSIVE version of that. Your 2nd link looks like this:

Ahh yes more projects! I am looking at the same stuff - the noico 80 mil. But if you really want to get rid of noise, you've gotta lay another layer on top with CCF

Amazon Amazon

To be honest though, I wouldn't even bother unless you are planning to pull the dash and do the firewall. That's where I get the majority of my noise. Bad door seals or poorly aligned doors can also cause a problem.

About a year ago I bought a wiring harness for the dash and doors that has a factory keyless entry/security system and power mirrors, etc. I've been waiting for the right time to pull the dash. Come on down for a weekend Clint and we can practice on my truck

Well, I guess it's probably not THAT noisy! I can carry on a conversation with a passenger with no problems, I'm just trying to eliminate some of the noise from the road. The tires are Michelins with about 30-35k on them, the front wheel bearings were just replaced this winter, and the alignment was done about 12k ago last year. The truck doesn't have any exhaust leaks, and I don't see the weight on the back of the cab. Replacing the body mount and suspension bushings was something I wanted to do, along with door gaskets and window rubber since they are 23 years old! As for rubber or poly for the bushings, how is the ride quality affected by each? Is the poly much stiffer making for a harsher ride? Like I said, I'm looking for the comfort in my drive time so any improvements in that area are what I'm trying to achieve. And thanks Steve for all your info!!!

We are seeing as high as $3.30/gallon here for regular. Might be too rich for my blood 😀

James, on the subject of bushings/body mounts, what do you think of the poly ones vs. rubber? Is the ride quality harsher with the poly? Did you replace the axle pivot and radius arms too?
