Default someone explain something to me? please

Does any one know how the obd-I computers work in the 95 and previous trucks? Is it tuneable? I replaced my better and my truck ran so much better. It shifts better, idles better, runs better. So theres something computer wise going on there. Ive heard you can chip these trucks and ive heard you cant. Whats the story?

NO you will set off codes. You need an EGR delete kit with comes with a plug for the manifold and another dongle that fools the computer into thinking the EGR is still there. That has nothing to do with a chip.

And where do these chips go, what do they do, and are they effective?

Did you not read the link I gave you? You accomplish the same thing by advancing your timing. It is also free, which is even better. If you want more power change your rockers to 1.7 roller rockers, install a free flowing exhaust and go from there.

You have to remember your truck is 16 years old man. We are not the top of technology anymore and with it changing daily it is not cost effective for companies to keep producing tuners and chips for our trucks. It may seem like it is but in the grand scheme of all the trucks out there we are a small part.
