Default Smog pump problem

Hello everyone, I have a question that may sound dumb, but I've done research, and I cannot find out anything about this issue. I have a 95 F150 with the 4.9 I6 . The smog pump went out today, and I noticed that the inlet hose was dirty, and when I removed it from the pump, it had a lot of fine dirt in it. What is the canister filter thing called? can I buy a new one? could this wreck my engine? I'm still not too sure how the whole air injection thing works. Thanks for your help!

It's just the smog pump filter, somebody must sell it. Air gets pumped in the exhaust so no it wouldn't have damaged the engine.

If you want to pay for shipping from Michigan you can have mine. Smog pump filter, off of a 96 4.9L. I just deleted the pump a few weeks ago because it was whining. You can PM me if your're interested.

It should be old enough you can just delete it.
