Default Smog Pump Delete?

Hello, I live in Florida where there is no emissions testing so I took off my cats (had a rattle to them) and ran to a thrush welded muffler, I have a 95 4.9 EFI and I was looking to get rid of my smog pump and plug up the rake on top but how can I do that? where do I buy the parts and how will this effect mpg's and performance?

Just leave it, there is no or any noticible gains in mileage or power, the way the egr is set up is it does not operate during performance driving, it actually helps the engine run cleaner, the only way to improve is to rip everything out but you will get codes for the missing egr, and possibly affect the operation of the efi system.

okay makes sense, I heard that it also helps keep the heads a little cooler? I dunno though. Can I fix my EGR by simply cleaning it out and restoring the movement of the valve or do I have to go ahead and buy a new one?

Try to clean, also clean the intake ports where the egr bolts to the intake. It usually gets plugged up especially older engines that has a little blowby.
