I had a spot right above the passenger side rear wheel well. The guy at Maaco suggested I use the fiberglass bondo. It worked great for what I had. I ended up with a couple of tiny pinholes which showed up when it was painted, but you have to get close up to see it.

That's what I was planning to do too. I watched a video from ChrisFix on youtube that shows the basic process and it didn't look terribly difficult so I wanted to give it a go. Was hoping to do it before winter but it doesn't look like that will be happening. I am not expecting perfection, just as long as it looks presentable and stops any futher rust.

Question... Do you have to remove the chrome fender trim to do the work? My guess is yes but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Yeah it makes it a lot easier to work on it, if yours is in the same spot mine was. Just 5 screws no problem. I found out I am not a body man LOL but like you I wanted it to look good and keep it from getting worse.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I am not a body/paint man myself either but I am a DIY'er whenever possible. I figure worst case if it really sucks, I can just have it done professionally. Just don't want to throw a ton of money at the truck if I don't absolutely have to.

New to this forum and new owner of this F150. I've been looking for one that was in good shape for a little while now. Well I finally found one.

The guy that owned it before me took really good care of it. Definitely a good find.
